Amir Muhammad

Amir Muhammad might be the only Malaysian to have a book company (Buku Fixi) as well as a film company (Kuman Pictures); and even if he isn’t the only one, you might have to believe him. Buku Fixi has published over 250 books since 2011. It has the most Instagram and Twitter followers among its competitors. Most of the books are horror or thrillers in Malay, and some are by Indonesian writers. It has also published translations by Stephen King, Neil Gaiman, and Haruki Murakami but the only profitable one was the John Green cancer one. Kuman Pictures meanwhile has a target of releasing 3 horror films this year (one each in Mandarin, Malay and Tamil). The first one, “Two Sisters” was just released, and the other two are “Roh” and “Irul”.
