Prof. Dr. Timbul Haryono, M.Sc. was born in Klaten, Central Java in 1945. He is a professor in the Department of Archaeology, Humanities Faculty, Gadjah Mada University. He received his master’s degree in Southeast Asia Archaeology from the Pennsylvania University, USA, in 1982. In 1994, he finished his doctorate study in archaeology at Gadjah Mada University. Currently, he is one of the lecturers in the Performance Arts and Arts Graduate Program at Gadjah Mada University. His research topics and writings are mainly about history, Javanese culture, and culinary.
